He helped usher in a new era of movie scores with his 80\u2019s sounds. He gave a voice to both Axel Foley and Fletch. This time, we\u2019ll be listening to the music of Harold Faltermeyer, on FrameTrax. Faltermeyer is best known for composing the \u201cAxel F\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>theme for the feature film<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Beverly Hills Cop<\/i>, an influential<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>synth-pop<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>hit in the 1980s. He also composed the \u201c<\/span>Top Gun<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>Anthem\u201d for the feature film<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Top Gun<\/i>, along with its score, and the music for the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Chevy Chase<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Fletch<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>feature films,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Fletch<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Fletch Lives<\/i>. The<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Beverly Hills Cop<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Top Gun<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>projects earned him two<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Grammy Awards: the first in 1986 for Best Album of original score written for a motion picture or television special, as a co-writer of the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Beverly Hills Cop<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>soundtrack; and the second in 1987 for<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Best Pop Instrumental Performance<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with guitarist<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Steve Stevens<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>for \u201c<\/span>Top Gun<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>Anthem\u201d from the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Top Gun<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>soundtrack. <\/span><\/p>\n
